Our Standing Committees

OUR STANDING COMMITTEES

The Foundation has six standing committees in addition to its Executive Committee (of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary).

Fund Development- This committee is responsible to develop strategies for raising funds which will be used to increase our Capital Endowment Funds.

Marketing / Communications  Committee - Oversees communications, including media relations, the newsletter, brochure, website management, a speakers bureau, and other external relations relating to getting the word out to the community at large about the Foundation.

Special Events -  This committee is responsible to organize events which will not only raise awareness for the Foundation within our communities but will also raise funds to help build our Administration Fund.

Grants Committee- The Board Committee organizes the advertising and distribution of the Grant applications. It also liaises with the Grants selection committee. The members of the Grants selection committee operate at arms length distance from the Board and take their direction from the Board.

Community Development- This group seeks ways and means to be more actively engaged in dialogues with other community organizations in a convener-like role which encourages the discussion of emerging local issues.

Youth Action Committee - Called "The Hand", welcomes youth from Grade 8 through to the age of 29, with adult allies willing to mentor youth. At the present time, there are 13 active youth, and 9 who consider themselves committee members but are inactive presently. There are 4 active adult advisors.
