Youth conference offers fresh perspectives

Coming out of Saturday's Teens of the Towns Youth Conference, the 17 year old Kwalikum Secondary student has a different point of view. He now sees Oceanside as "more of a whole, rather than separate areas."
"Its a rather empowering thought".
When people pull together as a whole,he said, more can be accomplished.
Talk got around to the Second World War, a time when young and old alike paddled in the same direction.
Now, there isn't such a unifying purpose or call to action. But Skipsey, grandson of the former Qualicum Beach mayor Art Skipsey, said there can be a similar level of effort.
