Foundation Grant Assists Local C-Streets Emergency Response Organization (CERO)

Parksville-Qualicum Community Foundation is here to help strengthen our community. This August we were able to provide the C-Streets Emergency Response Organization (CERO) with a $500 donation toward first aid training for 11 local residents.

The course was provided by Alert First-Aid Inc. of Victoria through their Nanaimo branch. The course was a full day and covered the basic elements of first aid.

A number of the members attending had no first aid experience and others were provided a refresher to earlier training. As a result, CERO now has a number of residents fully qualified in Standard Red Cross first aid in accordance with the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) guidelines. These residents can respond to emergencies that might be encountered in community emergency situations (earthquakes, storms, household accidents).

The Foundation is pleased to support this community initiative.
