The Neighbourhood Small Grants (NSG) program offers support to individuals who want to help enhance the quality of life in their neighbourhoods. With grants ranging from $50 to $500, the NSG program empowers community members to turn their visions into reality.
The NSG program to is open for applications on September 15, and closes on October 31. BC residents can apply for projects within Oceanside communities, and the applicants’ neighbourhood.
NSG is about fostering community bonds, creating positive change, and leaving a lasting impact. If you have a great idea for your neighbourhood, make it a reality with NSG!
Guiding Principles of Neighbourhood Small Grants:
- Everyone Has Gifts: Any individual can contribute their ideas, talents, skills, experiences, and contacts to build a stronger community.
- Small is Powerful: Even small amounts of money can lead to powerful changes, fostering new relationships, increased self-confidence, leadership development, and the creation of local traditions.
- Local Decisions Are Best: Diverse community members have the opportunity to make decisions on grant recipients in their communities.
- Where We Live Matters: Grants enable neighbors to collaborate on projects within their community, based on what works best for them.
- We Learn Together: There’s no single right way to build community, and participants have numerous opportunities to learn, share, reflect, and exchange knowledge.
