Parksville-Qualicum Community Foundation is proud to announce that $230,000 has been awarded through the Oceanside Prosperity Fund to 17 local organizations, supporting efforts in poverty reduction and fostering social inclusion throughout the Oceanside region.
You might be wondering, “What exactly is the Oceanside Prosperity Fund?” The Fund is part of a broader $25 million investment by the Government of British Columbia aimed at strengthening the non-profit sector and empowering communities to drive change at the grassroots level.
The Oceanside Prosperity Fund assists community services organizations to obtain vital funding that supports both operational sustainability and project-specific initiatives. The Fund offers up to three years of financial support, ensuring organizations can make a sustained impact over time.
The Foundation saw an overwhelming demand for support, receiving 29 applications totalling over $600,000 in funding—clearly demonstrating the immense needs and potential within our community.
After a thorough review process, PQCF selected 17 organizations to receive grants. These organizations are doing vital work in areas like food security, mental health, support for Indigenous Elders, and youth and family services—addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing residents in our region.
