Denise joined the Board in 2023. As a Victoria native, Denise has wonderful memories of camping and exploring in this amazing place we call Oceanside. Once retired there was no question this was the best place to live and moved here with her partner in 2017.
Denise enjoyed a 35 year career in Municipal Recreation & Parks, and describes it as ‘an outstanding opportunity’ to facilitate health, wellness and rehab programs for people of all ages and see the positive impacts on their lives.
Over the past few years Denise organized a local community campaign which successfully conserved 9.2 hectares of land beside the French Creek estuary – now officially known as the French Creek Estuary Nature Preserve. She’s grateful to everyone who contributed and hopes this win for nature inspires others to dream big.
